I had to use max motives a couple few times.  At least until all the kids were teens so they didn't get taken away.  They had horrible grades!

I think everyone should play the way they enjoy, but try it without cheating.  It's ok to "fail" at a few things.  If the toddlers don't get trained, that's ok.

On the other hand, you don't want the Maxis social worker to take the kids away.  That would cause problems.  So what Gigglz72 did makes sense.

When "our" social worker shows up, don't cheat.  Just let it play out.

I haven't done ANY cheating in the Perfection household, because I was afraid it would mess up the controller or something.
But I'm currently taking a break from Lark and Fury's house to play all the other households in rotation.  I do my usual cheating in those houses, but avoiding doing much to any of the character who interact directly with the challenge family.  I am afraid if I change someone who is part of the story, it will mess something up.

I'm having a blast playing it this way.  It's more of a challenge to not touch some characters.   For example, I'd love to age up Pao, but I want to wait because he is sort of part of the story, and eventually I want he and Lark to be together.  They are already crushing in my game.

To kind of assuage my desire to change everybody, I am doing makeovers on all the non-essential playable characters in the other households.
I downloaded a bunch of bright funky alien/goth/arabian/etc clothing from Parsimonious, and have been redressing all the neighborhs.
Plus Delia Dobbles is a whiz at giving makeovers at their salon.

We stuck some alien hair and eyes and such  up in the downloads section (not in the game download itself) to help with some of the makeovers.
The 'bathroom uses you' MATY hack goes a long ways toward helping with the bathrooms and congestion in them.
Main thing for this pack is HAVE FUN! That was what we all wanted. To give something different and quirky and fun.

And don't forget to save the next generation kids for Nocommente. She'll post a thread with what she wants when she gets a chance.

I haven't done much except maxmotives, the homework-at-7 hack, and have them study during weekends using the aspiration reward bookcase... I have to tell you, I am having a *ball*!

For a control freak like me, that is *really* saying something.  Laughing
