Um....goals?Well, I've played them through two sim days and had fun with them but I haven't seen any challenges or goals pop up - what am I doing wrong?

Have you had any messages at all? A message should pop up each day. The beginning "goals" are just to train the toddlers.

First, I should have put this in the problem section. Sorry! Second, no I haven't had any messages at all. I can restart the neighborhood easily enough, I just don't want to repeat the mistake I made this time. When it asked me to turn off Game Tips I said "yes", could that be it?

No, that shouldn't be a problem. You should get the first message failry soon after entering the Perfection household.
You should probably restart. If you don't get the message, try this.
Press Shift-Cntl-C to open the cheat box. Enter
boolprop testingcheatsenabled true
in the box. Press enter, and esc if needed, to close the box.
Hold down Shift and click on the controller (looks like the big apple statue). Chose "activate controller."
Enter - boolprop testingcheatsenabled false - to turn the cheat off. Now play for a bit and see if the challenge starts.

Thanks for the help. I went ahead and restarted the neighborhood. Now I'm getting the messages and they're lots of fun.
